She was "walrus crawling" about the house. I would touch her and she didn't seem in pain and when I would lift her tiny little legs they would buckle underneath. I felt so awful. When an animal is in pain it is just so horrible because they can't really just say, "Hey Mom, my belly hurts." or "I have a headache." or "My butt hurts!". All things I hear from Sam and Stone...
Well, obviously she is a tad bit overweight. Not my fault! It appears that Sal has some inner problems like a bad thyroid and chronic ear infections on top of that.
Since I got her (City of Arlington Animal Services) and Stu (Human Society of North Texas) from the shelter a year ago it has been problem after problem healthwise. Despite it all, the experience of getting these two "shelter dogs" has been totally worth it because I am pretty sure that I picked the BEST, most precious dogs in the world those two days. It just proves that they really do need you there.

They both made a trip to the doctor yesterday and as it turns out it was not Sally's back legs at all. Dr. McDaniel from RAH (best vet clinic I have EVER seen) said that it appears she has hurt one of her front paws or leg somehow. Poor little thing. Think of the most pitiful looking dog with short little legs that don't look big enough to hold her big body up and I KNOW you are picturing a dog like Sal.
Sally will be getting plenty of rest the next few days and taking her anti-inflammatory meds as directed along with her extra special new low calorie diet! (poor thing)
